Landmark
Don’t miss the majesty of Teatro Colon Bogota, Colombia’s national theater. The recognized National Monument, built in a colonial neoclassical style by Italian architect Pietro Cantini, is the oldest concert hall in the country, having been inaugurated in 1892. Those familiar with the Palais Garnier in Paris may notice that the auditorium resembles its Parisian counterpart, though at around half the size. Check the theater’s schedule to see what operas, plays, and musicals are showing, or take a tour of the building. • It is of the few jewels remaining in the Centre of Bogotá. If you have time and there is lucky enough to attend one show at this theater, I recommend you take the balcony 11 or 12 in the 1st row. It looks great from these positions.

  • Beautiful theatre, but not splendid as others from South America. I found the quick tour and with a guide a little patience for questions.

  • The Rococo and classical decoration European style. Coffee of the input while it does not offer much variety or seats available is good for something quick before work, but standing. Take your precautions

  • It is beautiful, spacious and well located.
  • Beautiful theater located in the heart of la candelaria, the events aren't expensive and the seats are comfortable. The theater offers tours around the building twice a week, highly recommended activity.
  • saw a modern ballet performance here. the theater is charming. while it said doors open at 18:30 for a 19:30 performance in reality they only let people in from around 19:15, so no need to be excessively early.
  • One is the most beautiful theatres in Bogota. A must see in any walk by la Candelaria
  • The beautiful Colon Theater has been key in the development of the arts of the city.
