Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Bogota

(4.5/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Rising a full 15 m (49 ft), the statue at Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe dominates the landscape from its 3,300 m (10,827 ft) peak. Hike up the unpaved road with a guided tour, or take a cable car to the top and survey the whole of Bogota as you ascend. Once there, marvel at the statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the work of Bogotan artist Gustavo Arcila Uribe. Several earthquakes, the last one in 1917, destroyed the original 17th-century hermitage that stood here. With our international travel planner, Bogota attractions like Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • It is an ideal place for athletes or tourists or people who enjoy majestic views. The entire city is seen, and is badly high that monserrate.

  • It is one of the leaders of the Colombian capital. Along with Monserrate, are the privileged viewpoints of Bogotá. Its main attraction is the chapel that serves as a place of pilgrimage and religious celebration. It has places to eat and to buy religious items, especially devoted to the Virgin of Guadalupe. We could not know the chapel because at that time (Saturday at 11:30 am) was closed. The viewpoint is very nice, a bit small, but the view of Bogota is spectacular: especially on a sunny and cloudless day as which corresponded to us. New buildings and other buildings in the center of Bogota are. A destination and a visiting, especially if you have car...

  • It shows that it is in the hands of the priests or the district because it is a little bit abandoned and disorganized. Little friendly road, the via access but still, the parking in the hands of a particular gentleman than by right is charging $2,000. The Church has been in reshaping the 2 times I've gone and the small is almost always occupied by masses, groups of prayer, etc. Meals it as the de Monserrate, families who believe that spiked red wine, soda, fried food, arepas and arepuelas live. By knowing him but pariah go very often.

  • Awesome views of the sprawling city.
  • A site of worship: baptism, Catholic, Eucharist, masses. It has a spectacular view, 3300 meters. Services of restaurant where you can savour a delicious Tamale Bogotano, crullers, typical desserts, selling crafts and reminders. Recommendations go well sheltered and not throw away rubbish. You are reachable by bike if you are a good athlete.

  • Enjoying a spectacular view. On the other hand, to the place it is best to arrive in vehicle already on the bottom safety is not in his best days.

  • I can say with certainly that it is my favorite place in Bogota, I invite those who have lots of air of grandeur that they visit, there is where you will realize how big are, when as much as they do they will not see a single person in the streets of Bogota, so are great!
