Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Bogota

(4.5/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Rising a full 15 m (49 ft), the statue at Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe dominates the landscape from its 3,300 m (10,827 ft) peak. Hike up the unpaved road with a guided tour, or take a cable car to the top and survey the whole of Bogota as you ascend. Once there, marvel at the statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the work of Bogotan artist Gustavo Arcila Uribe. Several earthquakes, the last one in 1917, destroyed the original 17th-century hermitage that stood here. With our international travel planner, Bogota attractions like Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Fantastic views of the central to southern end of the city, easy to access via car with a short walk up from the parking areas. Good surface to walk and many paths around the surrounding countryside. ...  more »
  • This is the second most important mountain top for Bogota (after Monserrate). It's devoted to the Virgin of Guadalupe (not to be confused with la Guadalupana in Mexico) and it's a pilgrimage sanctuary...  more »
  • The shrine of Guadalupe is another of them points more high of Bogotá next to the Hill of Monserrate. From this point you can see the entire city. It is a good family plan and go many groups on Sunday, whether for sports or religious plan. The access is easy: in car, in taxi and there is that walking a good distance.

  • Awesome views of the sprawling city.
  • A site of worship: baptism, Catholic, Eucharist, masses. It has a spectacular view, 3300 meters. Services of restaurant where you can savour a delicious Tamale Bogotano, crullers, typical desserts, selling crafts and reminders. Recommendations go well sheltered and not throw away rubbish. You are reachable by bike if you are a good athlete.

  • Enjoying a spectacular view. On the other hand, to the place it is best to arrive in vehicle already on the bottom safety is not in his best days.

  • I can say with certainly that it is my favorite place in Bogota, I invite those who have lots of air of grandeur that they visit, there is where you will realize how big are, when as much as they do they will not see a single person in the streets of Bogota, so are great!
