Plaza Del Chorro Del Quevedo, Bogota
(3.8/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
See the birthplace of Bogotá at Plaza Del Chorro Del Quevedo. Established as a garrison by Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada, who later founded the city in the same place in 1538, the square has long served as one of Bogotá's social hubs. These days, students and alternative youngsters meet here in the evening to socialize before heading out for a night on the town. Try "chicha," a traditional Colombian alcoholic drink made from fermented corn. You can find plenty of stalls selling the drink in the surrounding streets. • At the top of the grafitto street, worth wondering down and stopping fir a drink in its own right, one of the oldest squares in Bogota. Often with live performances, and a small hole in the wall cafe,...  more »
  • Foreigners are happy there. There is too MUCH culture and open mind, much weed, much liquor, good restaurants, but is aimed at the Bohemian market

  • On this site are the roots of the city of Bogota' but it seems that they forgot to celebrate it and care for it properly. It is a small square in the heart of la Candelaria but there more than young people smoking pot from 4 pm until the early hours. The surroundings are interesting for a visit on foot but in the day. Place lack of safety in the night definitely. Makes it a lot is missing to be a tourist attractive location at the height of the nearby museums or churches or historic squares.

  • Bogota is an amazing and big city. This city has incredible places to visit. One of those places is named Chorro de Quevedo. This is an interesting touristic place in Bogota because there are many cultures that meet at different cafes and bars. One of most interesting plans is drinking Chicha, an ancestral fermented corn juice. Also, everyday, at 5 or 6 pm, some people narrate fantastic histories about mythical characters from Bogota. This place receives thousands of tourists a year. They are attracted by the architecture and the color of this place. Remember it, you are gonna live amazing experiences if you visit Bogota and even more if you visit Chorro de Quevedo
  • Bonito sitio para un café
  • It is a large place of recreation in which there are different forms of youth entertainment at economical prices, even there are days that presents comedians of various genres.

  • A mystical place where it is said that Bogota was founded in 1512, is also a commercial and touristic place. The gastronomy and the art that there is around delights to the passers-by.
