Parque el Virrey, Bogota

4.7
#8 of 31 in Outdoors in Bogota
Riddled with a network of bike and pedestrian paths, the linear park and ecological corridor of Parque el Virrey protects the ravine that runs parallel to it. Walkers, cyclists, and four-legged friends often fill the long, narrow park, where you'll also find benches and drinking fountains. A recreational area includes cardio equipment, strength training, and a playground. High-impact sports such as football, however, are prohibited. The quiet park offers a peaceful, green retreat in the middle of the city. Put Parque el Virrey and other Bogota attractions into our Bogota road trip app , and watch your holiday take shape.

  • We've come all Park. Impressive the amount of dogs with their owners. A delight to see how much fun they're having. There's numerous attractions that experienced square, located in the area of Bogota. Worth a walk unpretentious, without commitment to schedule. Sit back and watch people is also a good tip

  • Is in the neighborhood of Chico and as I was staying right next to the Park in 15 career passed through there every day. The Park runs along several blocks of the neighborhood and the ideal place for a walk or simply relax sitting on the bench watching the movement. The Park is well policed and there are cameras everywhere. Well worth a visit.

  • El virrey Park is a charming place, great to practice physical activity outdoors. A lovely place ... There is a little shop with various flowers and plants, in addition to several restaurants in the surroundings. Worth a visit and walk.

  • Very nice place to chill out and relax. It is near to Virrey station (trasmilenio). By the 15th career, there is the Edgar Negret's sculpture. It is safe due to the Police station (CAI). Nice place to go.
  • Family friendly. There are great restaurants for brunch or dinner. Also a good place to haghout with friends.
  • It is a nice place because I met my wife there. What else can I say?
  • Cool park to walk around and just relax. Very dog friendly.
  • Suitable for outdoor exercise. Many doogs around. Nice and clean.

Where to stay in Bogota

Many visitors to Bogota stay in La Candelaria, a colonial-era neighborhood in the city center where you can find plenty of decent hostels and mingle with tourists from around the globe. Staying in this area also puts you within walking distance of the city's major museums and best nightlife options. If you prefer to sleep in a quieter area and visit this busy district during the day, consider accommodations in the northern section of the city, which includes the upscale neighborhood Zona T.
