Head to Parque de Usaquen, the center of what was once a village separate from the city, but now stands as one of the most popular meeting and recreation places in town. Take a break in the shade of the trees, watching locals go about their daily routines, and watch as lively street performers act, mime, and sing as they pass through the park. Have a look at the handicrafts and souvenirs on sale at the market stalls that pop up around the park, and treat yourself to a snack and a cold drink from one of the many vendors. We were a Sunday in Bogota, thinking that we would find most of the things closed and went to usaquen to stroll, walk a little and see handicrafts. The truth we find everything, you can get directly in transmilenio, we take it in the season San Diego (L82 or M82) and left us at the Mall Hacienda of Santa Barbara, where begins the fair of fleas! Great place... went to take a few beers, ate some tapas, walked, listened to live music, take coffee with a wafer of dulce de leche in the square and talked with many craftsmen. An excellent picture, but eye: only for weekends or holidays if you want to see the flea market...

Domingoen afternoon and these down, turn off the TV and go to the best cultural experience of the city, you can start with a tour of the street fair of crafts, eating a delicious ice cream paila or other delicious desserts. Remember to bring coins for human statues and other cultural street demonstrations. And if you get hungry don't worry, Usaquén comprises of the best restaurants in the city.

Usaquén is story of a people who entered to form part of the city of Bogotá, a place to party day and night of great restaurants and good cuisine, specialty shops and fine crafts, exudes a scent of jasmine and warms the soul with its whirlwind of music in the open air. Spend the day at Usaquen and pausing in its magnificent square is a delight.

Very good park to get the feel of colonial Colombia without leaving Bogotá. The Sunday market runs all day and the park and whole area around for 4 blocks in either direction come alive with art, crafts, music, and food.

Great place! On Sundays there's a fancy flea market with handmade jewelry, clothing and other knick-knacks. It's a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Bogota

Great place to go on the weekends with the family. A bit pricey because its a tourist spot, but great food, market and scenery.

Nice place to walk around and listen street music performances. It is crowded on Sundays so be patient and careful.

Where to stay in Bogota

Many visitors to Bogota stay in La Candelaria, a colonial-era neighborhood in the city center where you can find plenty of decent hostels and mingle with tourists from around the globe. Staying in this area also puts you within walking distance of the city's major museums and best nightlife options. If you prefer to sleep in a quieter area and visit this busy district during the day, consider accommodations in the northern section of the city, which includes the upscale neighborhood Zona T.
