  • Originally in this space that today has meadow where workers play football in their lunch hour was the road to the Quinta del Libertador. Down the river San Francisco and should have bridges. Much later when El Espectador and El Tiempo functioned in their headquarters of the Avenida Jiménez - headquarters that can still be seen - journalists gathered here. Also had to make it in the cafes as the Windsor, the has and the automatic that survived much time. For these reasons, it was thought to do here the headquarters of the Association of journalists. After many exchanges the Colombian Academy which is actually Academy of the language stayed with the lot. So you can see to Miguel Antonio Caro after a fence at the northeast corner of the Park. At his side looking towards the South and also in the gardens of the Academy is a statue of Félix Restrepo Jesuit priest who governed this institution long. The entrance to the Academy, the auditorium or Hall, the library's two floors, to the Secretariat, is along the northeastern side of the Park. Station of the waters which connects underground to Germania owes its name to the Church. The entire sector is booming and they concur here or if students of the Andes, from the University of America, of the Tadeo. The environmental axis gives you life together with wax Palms was and they have grown since Salmona planted it. There are new buildings in the South-Western side and is the refurbished Continental. It is the Lerner library that defies time and by 16th Street you reach Santander park and tourist spots. By the 17th Street that originates in the northwest side of the Park you reach the Masonic Temple. On the square itself that is the monument to Bolívar low a vault of stone crowned by a condor with them wings open. On the first floor there is an enclosure where lived much time a poet Afro-Colombian.

  • This park needs lots of work. Double the cleaners and half the policemen. A good start would be to clean up the Bolivar statue. And some statutes of journalists would help because after all this is su...  more »

  • Nice central location. Obligatory Bolivar statue. Slice of life in Bogota. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit but it's so central you'll likely end up here whether you like it or not!
  • The best view of Monserrate. The place is really quiet.
  • Bog space with a nice monument to Simon Bolivar. a big concrete bench that winds is usually filled with locals. The graffiti tour also meets here
  • Full of culture and wonderful activities
  • Beautiful little park in the middle of downtown Bogota
