Ascend to the top of Monserrate, which towers over Bogota. From the summit--3,152 m (10,341 ft) above sea level--enjoy panoramic views of the city and the surrounding landscape. A 17th-century church perches atop the mountain, dedicated to El Señor Caído (The Fallen Lord), a name derived from a statue depicting Jesus after he was removed from the cross. Christians have used the site of the church as a place of worship since the 1620s, and it remains a popular destination for pilgrims. Nearby, various restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops provide refreshments and shopping for religious visitors and tourists alike. Get to the top by cable car or funicular, or join those on pilgrimage and make the tough trek on foot. Be wary of overexerting yourself on the mountain, as the high altitude can have adverse effects. Plan a trip to Bogota easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

Take the funicular and go even higher in Bogota. Take many photographs from this point. Have your lunch up there. There are very good restaurants in your choice

The view over massive Bogota is worth it only only if you can ensure you’re not waiting in line. Do your research or take a connected guide; otherwise do not bother.`

Mammoth lines, disorganisation, nothing at the top. Hours wasted here, stay downtown and enjoy this city. It could be worth going very early on a sunny day, otherwise avoid

A must visit spot in Bogota. You can reach the top either via the funicular or by walking up. The funicular ride is around 5 minutes and the scenery is excellent (the windows are a bit dirty, however). The views from the top are fantastic- you can see the entirety of the Bogotan metropolis. There’s a brief walk at the top to reach the sanctuary. There are also multiple shops to purchase food, drinks and trinkets.

If you like city views, there is no better place then Monserrate to check out Bogota from above. You have there options to get to the top, from a ferry, a lift or simply hike it up through a paved way. If you’re not used to the altitude Bogota sits in, I suggest don’t walk it or take your time. You will be going from 8k feet above sea levels to almost 11k feet. I normally go work out hiking it in the mornings but occasionally see tourist grasping for air while hiking. They sale fruits and beverages along the way. Once up there you can enjoy a mass service at the church, you can go eat at the many restaurants up there as well as buy some souvenirs to take back home. Totally recommend going. If you are coming during Christmas, worth going up at night to see the decorations. Just arrive before 5 so you can enjoy the sunset as well

Long review. Be aware there are two types of service and rides. The regular one is the cheapest and for around 4 bucks you ride in the teleférico round trip. The VIP service is around 12 bucks round trip same teleférico. The difference is time spend in queue is shorter in the VIP option. The second ride option,(funicular) it's like a small train. Looks funnier and more comfortable than the teleférico. It wasn't available the day I was there. Now top of the mountain you get beautiful view of the city. Very few places to eat. However is a great place to visit.

Beautiful views, the ride up was fantastic, there are places to exercise, places to worship, places to take selfies and places to grab a bite to eat or even a souvenir. The only thing I'd advise is wear comfortable shoes, the lines are LONG not only to buy tickets, but to get on the ride up and ESPECIALLY the ride back down.
-
The absolute most spectacular view of Bogotá with a beautiful church at the top with lush vegetation throughout.
