  • Strolling through the streets of the historical centre, we find this interesting Museum in a building that was the family home of one of the heroes of the Colombian independence. In the collection, weapons, uniforms, models, and, in the external courtyard, equipment such as tanks, helicopters, cannons, etc.

  • My expectations about the military museum in Bogota were dashed when entering. They are a series of rooms, (army, Naval and air force), with elements that so isolated, some can be interesting, as in the case of some weapons and uniforms. In the room the air force there are a series of scale models very well prepared but poorly dyed and displayed. Almost all are broken and need restoration. A teaching or instructional intent in the rooms is not. In the back of the House there is a playground with a series of elements that are not attractive and not also involve the visitor. The Museum needs a common thread that intertwine the items displayed with the story to tell. Requires Coordinator or curator that it cares for the display and preservation of objects. It seems more a display of given elements of low by obsolescence than for its historical sense.

  • Free entrance. Very organized and clean. The complete collection of coats of arms and flags of Colombia since its consolidation is. In addition the complete collection of uniforms and accessories used by the military (army, Navy, air force). Sculptures and paintings of the founding fathers of independence. There are outdoor and indoor rooms. Ideal for children over six years of age, adolescents and adults. The attention from the military is spectacular, with them you can talk about their experience and vocation. They are very friendly and kind. He is allowed to take photos without flash.
