  • I've been to this market twice, once each trip I made to Bogota. We took Uber there and back. The market is open only on Sundays and there are hundreds of stalls selling crafts, leather goods, spices,...  more »
  • It is very nice to stroll in Usaquen flea market, which is badly named, the items offered are mainly handicrafts. It's quiet, you can admire the architecture of the streets while shopping. The atmosphere is friendly, civilized. A good showcase for local handicrafts. After the market, you can recover easily, are in abundant supply in restaurants.

  • From 9 on Sunday. Best visited early before the crowds arrive! You'll find everything from bags and jewellery to pieces of amber and model dragons! It was great to talk to the artisans about their work. I couldn't resist trying some lechona, which is a traditional Colombian dish of slow-cooked pork stuffed with rice and beans - at 10k pesos I got a heaping plate and wished I hadn't had as big a breakfast! Occasionally a vendor accepts credit card but as a rule most of them take cash. As a solo female I encountered no issues with safety though be aware that surge pricing will be in force when you call an uber, and because of the ciclovia it may mean traffic on your way home.
  • Open on Sundays with lots of original artesenias, not just for tourists and plenty of dining options.
  • Incredibly charming place. Perfect for a Sunday walk.
  • Good option for the weekends
  • Pure culture!!

Where to stay in Bogota

Many visitors to Bogota stay in La Candelaria, a colonial-era neighborhood in the city center where you can find plenty of decent hostels and mingle with tourists from around the globe. Staying in this area also puts you within walking distance of the city's major museums and best nightlife options. If you prefer to sleep in a quieter area and visit this busy district during the day, consider accommodations in the northern section of the city, which includes the upscale neighborhood Zona T.
