  • The Fort is very cute and with tremendous visa to the sea, however, in my experience not worth the penalty. Traveling only decided to go to the island and visit the strong. In no other part of Colombia I felt so uncomfortable. People trying to get money in any way. Landing (at less than 1 km walk from the Fort) you require under 'subtle threats' to go on a motorcycle that you charge fluctuating price with every meter you travel. The Fort is cute but too small, not the trip worth it.

  • A stunning, historic construction good near from the Centre of the walled city... I recommend reading a little in this regard, to better understand what is being seen and understand the important history of the place! There are tourist guides in place, giving a good explanation! Travel with the Guide lasts 1 hour maximum!

  • Well maintained, imposing, at the entrance of the Bay of Cartagena. Built in the mid 18th century to defend the city after the victory over the English Commander Vernon. Access to anyone not willing to rent a motorboat is via speedboats the Cartagena-route for the residents of this locality Bocachica. Along the way, you can learn more about the everyday life of the residents and the difficulties they face to move in the Bay of Cartagena. Magnificent! Bocachica is a village abandoned by the Government and very welcoming towards those who come to meet the existing fortresses in the locality. Reserve at least half a day for the ride. The boats go out, just after being filled, the Muelle de la Bodeguita and just ask how to proceed to go to Bocachica. Not to be missed! There is no charge for admission. It is interesting to hire a local guide to accompany the tour, not just by the information given but also to help local residents living from tourism.
