  • It is an old House collection of Carnival costumes, with boxes of facades of traditional houses and the families to which it belonged also has antique items belong to the history of barranquilla; but they do not have a guide and at the entrance to tell you that they have no support and which soon already there that place. It really gives me though because they are an elderly people who attend it. Do not lose your time there.

  • Ugh. I went here 4 F-in times. it was closed. The security guard from the Library next door said she was sick/ out for lunch/ Not open on weekends/ not open on fridays... i mean seriously. All i wanted to do was see the typewriter Gabriel Garcia Marquez used.... sigh
  • Super
  • You are not registered officially as a Museum, however it is a house in very good condition with permanent exhibitions. Rooms so varied that speak of Bolivar, Gabriel García Márquez, various allegories of the Carnival of Barranquilla, objects and medals of aviation, exhibition of scale models of different parts of the city and personal belongings from the family. It is a bit messy and with little information that context to the turistaa, your input is expensive compared to other museums. There is only a caretaker that hardly gives information about the place.

Where to stay in Barranquilla

Equipped to host the largest festival in the country, Barranquilla has a good set of accommodations catering to a range of tastes, budgets, and interests. Either side of Carrera 46, find pristine chain hotels and smaller independent options with extensive amenities, such as rooftop swimming pools, modern spas, and popular restaurants. Look to the more residential areas for budget-friendly guesthouses, and consider booking a rental apartment if planning on a longer stay. Economical options cluster around Paseo Bolivar, but note the area can be rather sketchy. Be sure to reserve well in advance if planning on visiting for Mardi Gras in February.
