Castillo de Salgar, Barranquilla
(4.2/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Overlooking the water from atop a windy cliff, Castillo de Salgar stands out among the inspiring scenery with its bright yellow color. Having served many purposes since its construction in 1848--including prison, colony, and customs control house--the renovated clifftop building now functions primarily as a restaurant and event space. Climb to the castle's second floor to enjoy panoramic views out over the Caribbean Sea. Cap off the experience with a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant. • An emblematic place of the Atlantic where you can see the sunset, enjoy the strong breezes and picnicking. Inside the castle is not much that can be part of traverse it and eat something in the restaurant that there is.

  • Excellent view and history. During the week there are no attention... just you can enter in the surrounding area to admire the view. Weekend there is care and is a restaurant and apparently you can organize events.

  • Excellent choice if you want fresh air, Breeze delicious, have a great view, watch a magnificent sunset, ask for your hand in marriage, family, or simply find a place to expand the horizon. The food is rich, although I have not tried many dishes.

  • Exellent view awefull food. Expensive and not good at all... definitely a no for food
  • pretty cool place, great views, FREE! i liked it a lot, however do NOT have drinks at the restaurant/bar. i ordered a rum and coke/cuba libre, and friends ordered a margarita and whisky sour. my drink clearly did not have alcohol with it. i told the waiter and he claimed there was a double shot. I could not taste any alcohol and i know my rum and cokes! he took it bak and refilled it and still did NOT put alcohol in it. should not have paid the bill, it was bad drinks, bad service and overpriced. this is why i give it three stars. other wise i give it 5 stars!
  • Awesome view, super clean, it is also a restaurant so It's a great place
  • Recently refurbished, Castillo de Salgar is one of the most important symbols of old trade in the Colombian Caribbean, once it was the point where all products were certified to enter the Republic of Colombia, now it is a place to spend time with friends and family.
  • Beautiful.
