You can learn much about the life of Gabriel García Márquez in the Museum, this careful and very well organized. There are replicas of the elements used in the House of his childhood which gives interesting details of the writer, inspired are also in several of his books. The village is small, is very hot. The attention of the staff there is unmatched. The entrance is free.

I suggest you take a bus air-conditioned from Santa Marta to Aracataca in order to visit the Museum in question (company Berlinave). The Museum is a reconstruction of the scene described by the author in his novels (including "one hundred years of solitude"). Visit available in English and Spanish at low cost.

I write this review very much: we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, to 15, after a race against time directly from the Park Tayrona. We get there and it was closed. A guy with a purple polo shirt and glasses asks us where we came from and if we wanted to see the Museum. "If you got this far so far" tells me "we can't let you in the door." The guy was the Director of the Museum, did reopen the Museum and enter us and others, and even made us as a guide. The House is a faithful reconstruction of the original, for lovers of Marquez is a must see for no reason at all. Even the town, Aracataca, is all to visit, strolling. Nothing to see here, all to be enjoyed with your eyes.

The only bad part of this house is that its a replica and not the real thing. This is a necessary stop for any Gabriel Garcia Marque fanatic. He grew up here. This was the inspiration for 100 years of Solitude (or for many years named "The House" because it was the lives of his grandparents and aunts and cousins which were the basis for the Buendia family)

Good location, free access, friendly guides, is traversed in a short time. From the via Santa Marta takes five minutes you get, so it is a good plan to integrate it to the trip to the coast.

It is the House where was born the most large Colombian writer. Magical realism comes out afloat when the guides explain them as it was every fact in every room
