  • Beautiful scenery but can be quite tiring climbing up and down the place. Wear comfortable shoes as there will be plenty of walking and climbing. 😅 Avoid going during China's public holidays or their school holidays. It will become very crowded and long wait for the cable cars.
  • Breathtaking view. Once in a lifetime experience. But thousands of tourists.
  • Fantastic scenery. Great infrastructures. Once a lifetime experience. Must do while in china
  • Love this place! Many things that we can see. I did the route B (bus to go up, then cable car to go down). First 99 bends to reach the Heaven's gate area. Then 999 stairs up to the Heaven's gate (alternatively you can use elevator). After that we can choose to do the east or west route. I chose east first then a bit of west hehe. Both route has glass-bottomed cliff, but the glass on west route is clearer than east so you can see the bottom clearly haha (the pic attached is from west route). Theres also a chair lift to go to the fairy peak to get 360° view. On the west route, theres a suspension bridge going to the hightes temple (sadly I missed this). The place closed at 18:00 so manage your time wisely. If you use the cable car on your way back, don't forget to take the queueing ticket first behind the (first aid) building (forgot the name). Then see the first letter (the rest is in chinese). Match the letter with the queueing time displayed on the board :D I was amazed with how China create all of this, including 7 escalators up through the mountain to the top of the Mt.
  • Zhangjiajie was thrust into foreigner travelers' eyes after the movie Avatar. The Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar were inspired by Heavenly Pillar in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
