Experience the engineering wonder of Three Gorges Dam Project, the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. Completed in 2015, the massive gravity dam sits on the Yangtze River and boasts a length of 2,335 m (7,661 ft). Although monumental, the project to build this dam was not without controversy, as several sites were flooded and more than a million people displaced during construction. Nevertheless, the gargantuan structure attracts visitors from all over the world, who flock to marvel at its sheer size and power.
