Yulong River, Yangshuo County
Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Devoid of motorized boat traffic, Yulong River makes for great sightseeing as it winds its way among numerous small villages and looming rock formations. Explore the rural landscape along the path of the 35 km (22 mi) long river for a chance to step back in time and visit an area little changed by modern developments. Hop aboard a bamboo raft at the historic stone Yulong Bridge and lazily float through timeless farming communities and expansive rice paddies. As the river averages only about 25 m (82 ft) in width, you'll find yourself constantly surrounded by the region's lush scenery, with easy access to the accommodations of nearby villages.
