Where to stay in Xiamen

Look in the western half of Xiamen to find the majority of its accommodations. Near the port, a number of high-rise hotels dominate the main squares and look over the city's main sights and green spaces. Work your way through the side streets and you'll find a number of family-run guesthouses, budget-friendly hostels, and rental apartments. Gulangyu Island, ever popular with domestic and international tourists, offers a wealth of rental villas, basic hostels, and pleasant family-run hotels.

  • Since it is too much commercialized, the shops, snack bars etc were shouting at passengers constantly, which travellers were deeply annoyed. We escaped from this strange place within 5 minutes.  more »
