Dayan Pagoda Northern Square, Xi'an

4.0
#19 of 183 in Things to do in Xi'an
Considered Asia's largest fountain square, Dayan Pagoda Northern Square reflects the cultural beauty of the once-great Tang Dynasty. The square contains a garden area, a tourism business area, and a cultural corridor, in addition to the middle fountain area where spectacular light-water shows attract thousands of spectators. Notice how the site brims with entertainment, as shadow puppets, clay sculptors, stilt walkers, and artsy paper cutters swarm the area. Visit the snack bars and souvenir shops in the adjacent pedestrian streets to purchase food and gifts. • Expect huge crowds in the evening for the fountain show. I would estimate a crowd of 8000 the two evenings I attended. The show is quite good and well worth the wit and the crowd.  more »

  • From the 陝 West Museum on foot to North Square, it was so nice to start the fountain, it was so beautiful, it was very large, it was very long, and it was very impassioned. Then around the south to eat, and then come back to sit on the railway eight points, suddenly see the notice, said eight times, small village, Clock floor, North Street What a few stand non-stop! What a wonderful thing all have AH!!! Say Non-stop, how can we go back to the hotel Ah! Completely plan outside. But friends still pull me to try, to the small village and the results to the small village to turn the line, Hong Kong is the right side, there is absolutely no need to go, this is good, the line is special, only heard many people scream, many people run, to the end of the world, as if there is a terrorist attack, we also run, I ran legs are soft, just to , the last stop of the car is gone really bad, at a loss, and friends quarrel, and then can only walk with the foot, the cold winter, confused city after I do not know what the museum to see a railroad station, Ah! This station is not related to the next station of the small village is the South Gate! And then on the smooth ride on the iron, and good hotel that station Dragon first did not have a seal station the last question why the staff stop, the answer is "because of Christmas Eve", God, Christmas Eve, the railway in the clock floor, South Gate, North Street, small village these important major stations NON-STOP, what logic!!!

Where to stay in Xi'an

As in most Chinese cities, the least expensive places to stay in Xi'an concentrate around the main train station. To stay in a quieter and safer area, look for rooms in or near the city center, where you can choose between mid-range hotels and affordable youth hostels catering to backpackers and other travelers on a budget. Tourists with bargaining experience can usually get deeply discounted rooms through agents working the shuttle bus station at the airport. If you'd rather avoid dealing with touts, book your accommodations ahead.
