Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta), Xi'an

3.9
Listed as a World Heritage Site, Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) represents a well-preserved structure originally built in 652 that serves as an important holy site for Buddhists. Considered a symbol of the ancient city, the building currently stands 64 meters tall (210 ft), but it underwent many restorations throughout history due to numerous earthquakes which repeatedly damaged its foundation and façade. As you approach the pagoda, notice how the brick exterior looks like a square cone. Inside, observe the walls engraved with statues of Buddha as you climb the twisting staircase and take in the panoramic view from the arch-shaped doors on each of the seven storys. If you wish to take a seat on the viewing platform, you'll need to purchase a ticket. • The Dayan pagoda is in the en, because when we arrive in the off-season, we have closed the door, so we only have a circle around en, Xi ' an, watching the jet spring in the North Square, watched for a while, the more people, the more we went south. On the way south, there are a lot of lights, every light column has four sides, on each side there is a poem about the long Ann or en, there are many famous poets, such as Du Fu and Bai Juyi, also have I do not know, really is too poetry!! The net is walking on the road, reading poetry, is really meditation when the alchemy to the south, is the entrance of the big en, I saw in the doorway of the Tang Sanzang bronze like the appropriate leisure to see, I hope next time to enter the temple to see. But there are really a lot of people at the time of the night. But now in Xi ' an a lot of good security, see around the police! The thief was too afraid to jump lightly.

  • This hotel is very close to the Wild Goose Pagoda. Dining is on the 6th floor 🤔NO SMOKING🤢 if you speak up😲
  • Large park area with the important Goose Pagoda at it's centre. Worth a stroll if you have some spare time in Xian.

Where to stay in Xi'an

As in most Chinese cities, the least expensive places to stay in Xi'an concentrate around the main train station. To stay in a quieter and safer area, look for rooms in or near the city center, where you can choose between mid-range hotels and affordable youth hostels catering to backpackers and other travelers on a budget. Tourists with bargaining experience can usually get deeply discounted rooms through agents working the shuttle bus station at the airport. If you'd rather avoid dealing with touts, book your accommodations ahead.
