Banpo Neolithic Village, Xi'an

(3.1/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Banpo Neolithic Village gives visitors insight into how the early people of Banpo lived several thousand years ago. Representative of the Yangshao culture that flourished in the Yangtze River Valley between 5000-3000 BCE, this Neolithic museum consists of three different halls. In the exhibition halls, you'll learn about these ancient people's way of life through displays of tools ranging from axes to pottery knives, as well as highly developed hand-shaped ceramics. The large site hall shows the thatched-roof huts in which they lived, the moat around the settlement, and the pottery kilns and tombs outside it.
