Yaoling Cave, Tonglu County

Categories: Caves, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web
Illuminated by colored lights, Yaoling Cave takes on an alien aspect, its bizarre rock formations cast in psychedelic pink and blue hues. Formed around 350,000 years ago, these nine subtropical karst caves link to create a 1 km (0.6 mi) underground walking trail. Though the paths have anti-slip mats and hand rails, the surfaces remain a little slick; wear hiking boots if possible. Bring along an extra layer to ward off chills, and note that visitors with mobility issues will be affected by the unfortunate lack of stairs.
