Porcelain House, Tianjin

Categories: Architectural Buildings, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
2.6/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web
Peruse the exhibits at Porcelain House, a contemporary museum of pottery and antiques entirely decorated in porcelain, inside and out. Though the site was originally a colonial building, the present owner redecorated it by using 700 million porcelain pieces, leaving it with a style combining traditional and modern elements of Chinese culture. You'll see porcelain decorations everywhere--on handrails, ceilings, and walls. Take a walk around the house and see precious furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the roof of the house, adorned by a gigantic porcelain dragon. Put Porcelain House on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Tianjin vacation route planner.

  • The outside is very original but drop to the inside not all interesting! However for sensitive souls of the nose, not too stay on the site because the sewer smells are very very strong (heat increases the latter). I recommend you a few photos of the sidewalk on the other side, sufficient for non fans of furniture and other Chinoiserie!
