The Classical Gardens of Suzhou, Suzhou
(4.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Included on the World Heritage List, The Classical Gardens of Suzhou showcases classical gardens once used by powerful aristocrats and businessmen. The foundations of the site were laid during the 6th century BCE, but it was during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasties (1644-1911) that the gardens became a city hotspot. You can visit up to 69 preserved gardens and its residential sections which still maintain the classical structure, arrangement of furniture, style, and aesthetics. Notice how each layout combines Chinese philosophy with Oriental art, creating a tranquil cultural aura. The site regularly follows a monitoring plan, so routine maintenance can temporarily ban tourists from accessing certain gardens. • Suzhou visited in late October 2016 onwards while on tour in China. Beautiful gardens. Garden modest official struck the sizes and the harmony of water, herbs, stones and Chinese roofs bent upwards at the pavilions. Large size with gardens, ponds and even garden bonsai trees too large. Throughout the Eastern philosophy and laborious work gardeners. We were not very lucky with the weather. Went potty and prolonged rain, although it supplies. Due to the weather in the little garden Wizard networks of the time was a bit. But in this garden met artists and students who ink wrote from nature landscapes. In a small gallery in the garden you can purchase more adult masters. Awesome were the old part of Suzhou with channels and pedestrian street. Emerged a strange question: "who is the idea to build a city on canals? The Venetians Chinese or vice versa? "But feeds, stone bridges, homes with foundations in water is very reminiscent of Venice, only more Greens and Red Chinese lanterns in everywhere.

  • The two gardens we visited namely the Administrators Garden and lingering Garden were both worth going miles to see. Well Cared for and maintained a treat to the eyes.
  • Suzhou is visited mostly by its gardens. Very nice, very zen, very manicured, are all in place, everything has a because... but I like more parks and gardens open but this is matter of taste and does not diminish nor much less visit.
