Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou

4.3
Listed as a World Heritage Site, Humble Administrator's Garden represents one of the city's most famous and largest gardens. The garden was built during the Shaoxing period and endured constant change throughout history, usually under private governance. Covering an area of 51,590 sq m (555.310 sq ft), the maze-like site contains numerous Ming-style elaborate pavilions, courtyards, and bridges, which connect islands and pools. You can explore three sections of the garden, where you can behold many natural and cultural landmarks. Also, attend the frequently held floral exhibitions, where you can learn much about plant life and see examples of bonsai trees, lotuses, and other flowers. • There is a paradise under the Soviet-Hangzhou, the Soviet state in addition to thorn embroidery and criticism, garden Forest building must be considered to be a leading special product. And the individual thinks that the humble garden is one of the more intact works in the culture of the Soviet garden. When you go to play, it is best to invite a guide, you can learn more from the humanities, allusions to more understanding and inspiration.

  • This was a worthwhile visit, although my wife and I preferred the Master of the Nets Garden. This garden was not so busy, probably a reflection of its lesser popularity. Worthwhile visiting though, if...  more »
  • Beautiful garden kept in pristine condition. There are several varieties of trees and bonsai. Very busy but still easily accessible and open to the public in a couple of hours. The halls are clean and contain various exhibitions, all of small size. The green crossed by channels from a sense of stillness. One star off for the admission price, in my opinion too excessive: €10 almost.

  • Admission costs 70rmb. It has many ponds or tiny lakes in it. Various gardens relate to different stories. There is also a large bonsai garden with various different bonsais. Route just keeps going and feels like it's endless. Could spend a long time in here and take it all in. Definitely worth a visit to get a feel of a real Chinese garden.
  • Immaculate, millimetricly designed and maintained. Nobody should miss this visit when staying in middle eastern China. The lotus pond and bonsai garden are astonishing. Admission ends 30 minutes before closing, but one should spend at least 1 - 1,5 hours in there.
  • A stunning botanic garden with Chinese style design and decoration. Lots of partition of wall and bush create more spaces and views within a limited land. But extremely overcrowding during public holidays. The best time to visit is ten days before public holiday. Otherwise you can only see human heads everywhere and anytime.
  • We reserved a day for Suzhou, and this was the first place we visited ... spent 3 hours and was the highlight. Wandered the paths generally following the recommended route, and took many beautiful pictures.
  • Beautiful garden. It continues on ans on and on. Make sure to look at the bonsai section.
