Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou

(4.2/5 based on 1,700+ reviews on the web)
Listed as a World Heritage Site, Humble Administrator's Garden represents one of the city's most famous and largest gardens. The garden was built during the Shaoxing period and endured constant change throughout history, usually under private governance. Covering an area of 51,590 sq m (555.310 sq ft), the maze-like site contains numerous Ming-style elaborate pavilions, courtyards, and bridges, which connect islands and pools. You can explore three sections of the garden, where you can behold many natural and cultural landmarks. Also, attend the frequently held floral exhibitions, where you can learn much about plant life and see examples of bonsai trees, lotuses, and other flowers. • Almost reminds you of the traditional gardens the Japanese keep. The buildings and layout are nice to take in as a whole package.
  • It is better to go here when it not too crowded; avoid during public holidays. It is very expenise though so to get your money's worth, you should take your time to have a proper look around.
  • a visit to open-air garden, in an environment full of trees of natural sites. the place implies all the sights in China, rooms containing chairs and flowers
