Flea Market Shopping Mall
Haggle your way across the sprawling five levels of Luohu Commerical City (Lo Wu Shopping Plaza). A bustling maze of independent traders, the market is well known for its replica designer goods. Fashion, souvenirs, technology, and watches--be prepared to bargain for what's caught your eye and walk away if the price's not right, as there's likely more of the same at a nearby vendor. Underneath the mall, the intercity bus terminal provides reliable transport links to and from nearby provinces. Our Shenzhen tourist route planner makes visiting Luohu Commerical City (Lo Wu Shopping Plaza) and other Shenzhen attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Five stories of literally hundreds of tiny shops. Selling clothing of all types, bric a brac, electronics, perishables, just about anything you can carry really. All cash and usually genuine fake. But...  more »
  • In any case, there's basically very high prices. Calculated that a tourist bought Hong Kong S.A.R., resigned and flew off. After a couple of weeks purchased thing breaks down, lost a suitcase wheel or something like that. The goods are mostly of poor quality. A lot of fakes. But who might get lucky and find a more or less normal thing at a reasonable price. In any case, it is better to visit the markets of Huachanbej and Donmjen, to understand the range of prices. And then you can purchase before leaving for Hong Kong S.A.R., along the way in this market that it is that you did not find the other. This is my opinion. By the way in Hong Kong on Kowloon at najtmarket or in the vicinity of Chunkin House can also find similar goods.

  • Luohu commercial center is a collection of small shops where one mainly counterfeit stuff sells. Depending on what one buys, one must count on there yet easy 70% of the initial price.

  • The hilarious knock-off products make it almost worth the trip, if it wasn't for people asking you to buy their products every 10 seconds. If you go there, definitely check out the Dim Sum on the top floor.
  • Directly at Louhu Port. Inside the building there are many shops. They sell almost every common used consumer goods from toys, clothing, electronics. Most people can speak understandable english. Prices there are negiotable..so take some time to walk around because its a big building.
  • Hundreds of stores in a five floors buildings, selling fakes top brands. Shoes, clothings, bags, watches, toys, etc. They offer 3x of the "real* price, so you bargain start from 30℅ of what they offer, except for things with price tags. Beware of your belongings and rip off. Great shopping arcade. 5 minutes walk from the train station. Across the Shangri-la Shenzhen.
  • During the years the market is becoming less and less competitive. You have to bargain a lot, which is part of the game/fun but in general prices went up.Be careful of fake 100 bills running around. If you often come to Shenzhen try to go back to the same shops. They will remember you. Most of the Iphone cables sold are of low quality. You better off buying them in Futian market.Clothing and bags are the key items for this market.Enjoy the shopping !
  • Beware the hard sell!! Never follow anyone who offers you a card outside, never let them take you to "the best shop" and never EVER tell them what you're looking for. Once you tell them anything they'll never leave you alone. These "tourist wranglers" get kickbacks for taking you to certain shops that may not give you the best deal. Find what you're after on your own and don't be afraid to say NO! No matter how nice they are or what kind of "deal" they're telling you they're giving you, you're nothing more than an ATM to them and they are going to take out as much as they can. There is a lot of good cheap stuff, mostly knock offs but still good deals to be had. Never take the first offer, ask for their price, then ask for a better price, then start to walk away. They will keep coming down especially if they think they will lose the sale. If you've paid more than 25% of retail or more than 60% of their first offer, then you didn't do it right. :) have fun, score some deals! When you leave, never take a ride from someone who offers it, typically they'll scam you for more than you should pay or worse, they take you somewhere else and then ask you for more money to take you where you really want to go. Don't even take a taxi that is parked above ground at the end of the courtyard. These guys have been banned from the taxi que line for being dishonest and they are just waiting for naive tourists to get in. The REAL taxi que line is under the bus station. It's two stories down from the mall and there are signs directing you to it. The taxis in this que line are monitored by the local police so they have to use the meter and be honest. If you ever get in a taxi and there is more than 12rmb on the meter to begin with or if they do not start the meter within a few seconds, make them stop and get out immediately! These guys are likely going to give you false rate or worse. There are also guys standing around the que offering "taxi, cheap taxi", do NOT go with these people! Wait in line, take an honest taxi. Be smart and trust your instincts. If it looks wrong or feels wrong do not hesitate to walk away and seek help from a local police, security guard, or even a counter person at the McDonald's.

Where to stay in Shenzhen

With the city quickly developing into a modern metropolis, Shenzhen accommodations have done well to keep up with the pace of change in the downtown area. The area south of Tanglangshan Country Park right down to Hong Kong's border offers an area rich in places to stay. Whether you're looking for some high-rise luxury, or a side-street dormitory, this central area has a large degree of variety. Located close to the main sightseeing highlights, and well served by public transport, the area stretches out to the east and to the west, with accommodations becoming less regular the further you go.
