Dong Men Pedestrian Street, Shenzhen

(3.7/5 based on 300 reviews on the web)
Join the commercial hustle and bustle down Dong Men Pedestrian Street, a lively, varied, and carless shopping area. A maze of side streets feed from the main strip, creating a walkable shopping district of multi-level malls, markets, and eateries. The main street features a number of clothes stores, fit to burst with men and women's fashion, shoes, bags, belts, and more, while the main drag's offshoots offer more traditional market stalls, with trinkets, teas, and souvenirs to buy. Multi-level malls dedicated to just one thing--shoes, comics, haircare products, and so on--make the sheer wealth of stock a thing to see in itself. • Fashion lover heavens! Go in the evening because some shop give extra discount in the afterwork time. Got 50 RMB for cute backpack.
  • This place is a great place to go if you are out for festive shopping, especially when Chinese New Year is around the corner. As the name of the street in Chinese suggested, it is an Old street and th...  more »
  • Almost all Westerners know the shopping center of Luohu but to those who want to experience a real neighborhood Chinese shopping recommend a walk in the pedestrian zone of Dong Men. You can walk the Luohu, just climb from the road behind the hotel Shangri-La, or we can easily be reached by metro, Laojie station and then you follow very clear directions. Here tourists and Westerners don't find, there is a crowd at any time between the many shops with salesgirls who scream into the microphone or flying of the typical plastic hands to attract customers. Walking through the streets it's fun even if there are a few interesting things to buy. If you venture instead inside some buildings you will discover a different world made of small shops with interesting things. Funny, I recommend it to anyone who has a couple of free hours.

  • Very exciting place. Plenty of shops. Plenty of foods. This place is full of energy.
  • Great place for shopping in Shenzhen. Not that far from the border with Hong Kong but considerably better prices!
  • One of the best place to look for bargain and the shops are selling authentic goods with good price compared with other countries.
  • From needle to locomotive... You can find whatever you want to buy here. Downside is insane crowd and insane amount of products, so maybe you cannot even find what you are looking for in that sea of everything.
  • A nice place for buying cheap items. Like clothes, mobile phone accessories. Nail shops and massage shop is every where.
