Dong Men Pedestrian Street, Shenzhen

3.7
Join the commercial hustle and bustle down Dong Men Pedestrian Street, a lively, varied, and carless shopping area. A maze of side streets feed from the main strip, creating a walkable shopping district of multi-level malls, markets, and eateries. The main street features a number of clothes stores, fit to burst with men and women's fashion, shoes, bags, belts, and more, while the main drag's offshoots offer more traditional market stalls, with trinkets, teas, and souvenirs to buy. Multi-level malls dedicated to just one thing--shoes, comics, haircare products, and so on--make the sheer wealth of stock a thing to see in itself. • The East pedestrian street is the most prosperous business district in Shenzhen, and it often happens during holidays. It's close to the old Street subway station and the traffic is very convenient. There are a number of large commercial and food courts and many cobblestone, which can be regarded as a good place to gossips on weekends.

  • Amazing shopping area. You can get cheap and affordable stuff along this market. The market area is called Dongmen. Ask anyone around Shenzhen and they will direct you. Many shops and restaurants are located I'm this area. I'm most shops if you are good at bargaining you will get your pair of shoes or anything at half price. Happy shopping!
  • Amazing! The place was known as old Dongmen Market or Shenzhen Market over 300 years, this was learned from the stone with a metal inscription plate in Dongmen. The pedestrian street is a maze of streets and buildings. There are many department stores and a large number of shopping malls selling clothes, shoes, bags, glasses, jewelry and others, also many tasty Chinese restaurants and fast foods. It’s rather busy on weekend but enjoy anyway.
  • Basically Shenzhen's answer to Taiwanese style night market. A must go for firsr time visitor. Can be very crowded. Always attract trendy crowds. Food is great - roasted meat, squid, cold noodles - affordable and fulfilling.
  • This is a shopper paradise. So many malls selling clothings, shoes, bags, phone accessories ranging from Branded to locals to fake. Bargaining is allowed in some while others insist on a fixed price. Crowds starting filling the street by 11am and by mid day, both the street and the malls are really crowded. A must must visit Location.
  • Great place until you even lost where you are...great to buy clothing shoes...no electronics

Where to stay in Shenzhen

With the city quickly developing into a modern metropolis, Shenzhen accommodations have done well to keep up with the pace of change in the downtown area. The area south of Tanglangshan Country Park right down to Hong Kong's border offers an area rich in places to stay. Whether you're looking for some high-rise luxury, or a side-street dormitory, this central area has a large degree of variety. Located close to the main sightseeing highlights, and well served by public transport, the area stretches out to the east and to the west, with accommodations becoming less regular the further you go.
