4.4/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web
"9.18"Historical Museum offers an unflinching look at the atrocities that took place over the 14 years of Japanese occupation in North East China. Part memorial, part informative museum, the site's goal is "to educate the people in patriotism and national defense," and it achieves this by portraying the treatment of the Chinese at the hands of their aggressors. Over 32,000 sq m (344,445 sq ft) and across eight exhibition halls, you'll witness recreated scenes of torture and photographic displays showing the horrors that took place. Though the museum offers limited information in English, you can get a guidebook from the gift shop. • Very well-organized and educational museum on an important period of recent history. It provides a moving story of the Japanese occupation of Manchuria for both foreigners and local residents.
  • Very modern and nice Museum that allows us to understand a part of the history of China unknown in the West (except for readers of Tintin and the Blue Lotus). But be careful to keep his mind criticism by visiting, the view being that of the Chinese Government and the Communists are the only ones to see a good role. The reality is perhaps a little more nuanced... But to see anyway.
