East Lake of Shaoxing, Shaoxing
(4.2/5 based on 90+ reviews on the web)
Rent an aquatic taxi at East Lake of Shaoxing and enjoy the ride between its colorful cliffs. Rocks of different shades of rust, green, and brown rise high above the crescent-shaped lake. Historically used as a quarry, the body of water remains from this hollowed-out landscape. Hills, grottoes, and pavilions adorn the scenery, and you can walk across the middle of the lake on delicate stone bridges. Make sure to bring your own food, as there are no vendors on site. • Worth a trip, but not a patch on West Lake in Hangzhou, though it's supposed to be one of the three famous lakes of China. Not a particularly difficult or long walk.
  • We went to visit this site. We did not boating. We decided to take the walk. It's too bad that the access to the terrace was closed but probably due to the heavy rains which fell a few days before. The path around the Lake is very clean. The only negative point would be can be the world makes that for photos there are often boats with much neon orange life jackets... But good disorientation anyway :)

  • It's worth a trip to this man-made lake. He was previously a quarry which became a small lake to fill with water. The ticket 50RMB for adults. Children and seniors (+ 60) do not pay. The cost of the ride by the boat is 85RMB and is worthwhile. It is by boat and return walking or vice versa. Inside there are shops with crafts and something to eat.
