Zhongshan Road, Shanghai

(3.8/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Built in the 1930s to limit foreign concessions in the city, Zhongshan Road has become one of Shanghai's most significant routes, particularly for its waterfront area along the Huangpu River. Opposite the iconic promenade, the road features an elevated section where you can take in the scenery. Walking along, you'll see Shanghai's history encapsulated in the architecture, from historic buildings of British colonialism to Pudong's ultramodern skyscrapers, making up the recognizable skyline of today's Shanghai. Take a break from sightseeing in one of the world-renowned cafes or restaurants. Put Zhongshan Road at the forefront of your travel plans using our Shanghai tour planner.

  • Western-style stone town is a very good atmosphere. Walking is kept clean and is recommended. Nanjing East Road station walk a little. On the other side is a skyscraper in Shanghai, you can feel the age.

  • I went a few years ago. Only here in China is not like building and sympathetically, have been at night is beautiful. Not going because it takes a child from the commotion of the PM2.5, air is clean and want to go again.
