  • One of the two main historical Buddhist temples in Shanghai. Originally built in 1882, the year then destroyed during the cultural revolution, and was restored in the year 1979. In the temple, you can see two jade Buddhas from Burma.

  • The construction is quite recent, 1911/1918. The architecture reflects the style of the Song dynasty, with salt and symmetrical courtyards, bright yellow walls toppled and gutters. The exterior has a typical yellow saffron. It is most famous for the Jade Buddha statue. Apart from this you can see other statues are typical of this type of temples. Left us with memories, but I still recommend to inspect it.

  • This was a lovely temple. The white jade Buddha was different. I especially liked the reclining one in one of the side rooms.
