  • The Museum is located in the century Avenue in the vicinity of the century Park, the largest park in Shanghai. It can be reached by bus or subway. The next stop is Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. What is there is a large market where you can buy anything. There are four cinemas in the Museum: the IMAX 3D Theater, the IMAX dome theater, the Iwerks 4 d theatre and the space theater. In the IMAX you can see dome on a round to screen films on scientific topics. The Iwerks 4 d theater features special effects such as blowing snow and storm. The complex consists of a ground floor and four storeys, which screw into a spiral in the amount, and symbolize scientific progress. There is also a huge glass sphere, which is located in a basin filled with water. It symbolizes the renewal of life. The Museum's collection covers various topics from natural history to information technology. The child-friendly exhibitions, which are characterized by a lot of movement, make this Museum a popular destination for families. There you can try many things yourself.

  • This was our 2nd visit. We went there on a Wednesday, it wasn’t too crowded. Our 1st visit was during Summer. Bad idea, there are so many people, the kids hardly can see the exhibitions. There are cou...  more »
  • The area is very large, so it's best to come early. Informative not only for children but also for adults. I, for example, really liked the exposition devoted to the extraction of oil, layouts, designs, etc., gives idea about oil production (although from petroleum). Also liked the theme of space. Been there a couple of times, because you can take a stroll to see again what the previous did not pay attention. The same way about this University, next to a metro station is located in Shanghai's biggest market of fakes. There can be good pribarahlitsja.

  • This is a high quality museum for children ages 6-14. You can easily spend 4-5 hours here.
  • It is a huge place. I was not able to go inside but the place is one of the greatest attraction in Shanghai.
  • This place is huge. I have never been to a science mueseum that is so big. At the same time, the muesuem has many experiments or exhibits that do not function properly. Still the remaining stuff takes a lot of time to see. If you are going with kids, suggest you pick the section most suited for your kids age. The place has enough for adults if you are a science enthusiastic. All movies are in Chinese. So that was a disappointment for the kids.
  • Though it is a big museum, it is somewhat outdated and could probably use a makeover. Many of the things you can interact with had eighter a maintenance sign on them or just didn't work. All instructions and information signs are in both Chinese and English.
  • More science-tainment than actual science. Beautifully made artificial african landscape, but otherwise not very inspiring.
