  • Located in the basement of an apartment/compound, this is a small centre/museum showing historic propoganda posters. Entrance is cheap (25 RMB) and you can easily spend 15-30 minutes here, probably no...  more »
  • A small but full display of propaganda art is an excellent way to share the history of China with young people. My children, 8 and 12 were very interested in the posters and asked lots of questions ab...  more »
  • Alone the Museum in a backyard is located and also in the basement without window is mega. It is very interesting with good concise explanation. Worthwhile in any case.

  • It's fairly easy to get to, just follow the directions the guard gives you. All you have to do is stand in front of the gate to the apartment complex, make eye contact with the guard, and look lost. The museum itself is an amazing collection of history. If you're interested in the history, you'll easily spend 2-3 hours here. If not, you can still spend an hour just glazing over the artwork and descriptions.
  • This was difficult to find, but so glad we did. It's in the basement of building 4. The guard will see your confused look and give you a business card and point you on your way. Very fascinating place. I'd give yourself 30-60 minutes here depending on how much Chinese you know or don't know. I only wish I knew more about Chinese history before coming, as I didn't always know what the posters were referring to. Small little gift shop is worth visiting as well. 25RMB for the museum.
  • This is a really interesting place to visit, especially if you bring along a Chinese friend who can explain the context of all the posters. To find this place you have to in the basement of an apartment building. The security guards will probably give you instructions, but I posted a photo of the entrance to the building as well.
  • A interesting museum that you can't see it at anyelse place
  • Amazing historical experience. Lots of original pieces. Gift shop items are more expensive than those you might find by wondering around (Mao's red book for example) but also contains some pieces you won't likely find elsewhere. Wonderfully laid out in chronological order, the museum does a brilliant job of taking you through the history of modern China and explaining various propoganda pieces.
