Old Town (Nanshi), Shanghai

(4.2/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Step back in time as you explore Old Town (Nanshi), the district that used to sit within the walls of ancient Shanghai. Although rebuilt, the area still retains its “old China” atmosphere and charm. Roam its narrow side streets and experience the new interspersed with the old, as you meander through the crowds of the bazaar, or visit one of the numerous temples sprinkled around the area. Browse the district for souvenirs, antiques, or novelty shops, and sample countless local delicacies from the abundant restaurants and street food stalls in the area.
