  • I have decided to visit this hidden gem after read good reviews from tripadvisors. It was definitely a off beaten path with lesser crowd during week day. It was quite a short walk from Line 11 - Nan X...  more »

  • Nanxiang is not a place you will find in tourist trips like "Shanghai in 48 hours". And it takes you also some time to find this old street, hidden among new buildings. But it is interesting, maybe to...  more »

  • A short walk from the NanXiang Metro station on Line 11, this is probably the easiest water town to get to from Shanghai without the aid of a long distance bus or tour group. Beautiful old buildings, cobbled roads and alleyways, and lots of lovely little bridges and canals. Tonnes of food and souvenir options. Many options to try XiaoLong Bao as NanXiang claims to be the origin of the delicious dumpling. It even has a Buddhist Temple and its own garden - there are entrance fees, but you can get a 40元 combination ticket that includes both, as well as a XiaoLongBao museum, and a museum on the town. Worth checking out GuYi Garden, too, whilst you're in the area.
  • Place to stay, the subway two compatriots tourist suburb of about 30 minutes. Yuyuyuen less people, slowly. Cheaply dressed in folk costumes, can be taken. Attention is a rip-off, but recommended to the girls! Here before walking takes about 20 minutes walk from the train station, but it is also fun.
