  • Don't know, Qingpu district, not far from the city center there is such a small town, said Kanazawa town, because it contains no commercial character, compared to the lively town is really quiet here a lot. Jin Zezhen is a famous bridge in Shanghai area, contains about eight bridges, old town is small, no crowded crowded scenes, no business soliciting noise here to experience the quiet atmosphere. Before I developed quickly walks over the weekend.

  • This was the 2nd of the water villages we visited on a rainy quite afternoon. The first was Zhouzhuang which was much more commercialized. Yes, like others have said, many ancient bridges, older build...  more »
  • I have visited more many water villages and was impressed by them. However, this water village is the highlight of all water villages. Only about 80 tourists a day come here, a local resident who drives tourists boats told us this anyway. I was with my Chinese colleagues there, so I had no problems to understand everything. I've been on a rainy day there and it was fantastic to see. The traditional houses which are partly not yet renovated. The river which is clean and clear. You can look down to the ground. For people who are looking for the old China and want to take pictures, this is the right city. Many motifs that invite and without too many tourists. Food is possible on the outskirts of the city, but mostly only in small restaurants which have little choice. For a small meal with Reiss and vegetables it enough however. By taxi, the city is the best way to achieve. You should plan a boat trip, because this allow other viewpoints on the bridges and houses. Forget the other water villages, this truly is the most beautiful village. As some write this should happen soon, before Hollywood here makes a film and this village is overrun and the Commerce finds its way.

Where to stay in Shanghai

As one of China's top commercial cities and tourist destinations, Shanghai offers accommodations that range from backpacker-friendly haunts to five-star hotels in futuristic skyscrapers. Few world cities can rival Shanghai in terms of room variety, services, and prices, and all types of travelers can easily find suitable options based on their preference and budget limitations. Puxi and Pudong remain probably the best options for most foreign visitors, as these areas offer both modern hotels packed with amenities and older establishments loaded with traditional charm.
