Where to stay in Shanghai

As one of China's top commercial cities and tourist destinations, Shanghai offers accommodations that range from backpacker-friendly haunts to five-star hotels in futuristic skyscrapers. Few world cities can rival Shanghai in terms of room variety, services, and prices, and all types of travelers can easily find suitable options based on their preference and budget limitations. Puxi and Pudong remain probably the best options for most foreign visitors, as these areas offer both modern hotels packed with amenities and older establishments loaded with traditional charm.

  • beautiful historic hotel with magnificent decorations. you get a very warm special feeling walking around in the hotel, enjoying the beautiful interior of this famous shanghai hotel. the front desk people were also very helpful. Steve Liu, in particular, was very pleasant and the service rendered was exceptional. our room was very comfortable and i particularly liked he setup of the bathroom-so luxurious.
  • This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The history is unbelievable, truely authentic and coupled with a Jazz Band that are the oldest in the world! Make sure you meet Harrison, one of the managers in the lobby, outstanding hospitality. He organised us the best seat on the on the terrace and gave us so many great tips for Shanghai! Worth a place to visit.
  • Everything is great as its history. Understood why it is one of top 3 on the bund.
