Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, Shanghai
(1/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Let your mind run wild under a river in Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, a 647 m (2,123 ft) long tube with multimedia effects. Special maglev mini-trains with wide glass areas allow you a 360-degree view of a laser-beam light show as you pass between the Bund and Pudong under the Huangpu River. The four-minute ride will dazzle (and maybe daze) many, but if you're not into special effects and don't want to get beamed, consider a conventional and less expensive way to cross the water. In spite of its rather cheap thrill, the psychedelic and numbingly entertaining ride remains one of the top tourist attractions in Shanghai. Put Bund Sightseeing Tunnel and other Shanghai attractions into our Shanghai holiday planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • If you're in Pudong and wanting to cross the river, we found the entrance hard to find. We kept asking people and they were like "what tunnel?" Of course the language barrier came into play. By the ti...  more »
  • I had read the reviews but if I tried I couldn't add my own, so I decided to throw these 50 RMB! I can confirm that this is a really kitschy attraction that the Chinese want to peddle to spectacular. At the entrance even a photographer offers to take a picture. Grotesque!. The cabin along the short stretch under the River in a succession of lights and sounds worthy of a fairground attraction. Bottom line: you don't need to switch from one bank to another, you can do more economically by subway or ferry. You can try to remove the curiosity to see if it's as bad as described in reviews!
