Explore Nanshan Temple, a Buddhist temple known for its gargantuan Guan Jin statue and the cultural park that surrounds it. The spacious temple area was constructed in 1988, in celebration of the bi-millennial anniversary of Buddhism. Enjoy the lively, but spiritual atmosphere of the Buddhism park, nestled between the verdant foothills of Nanshan mountain and the azure ocean waters. Admire the massive, 108 m (354 ft) tall statue of the Guan Jin Buddha, dominating the park from a small, man-made island just off the coastline. Use our Sanya trip itinerary planner to add Nanshan Temple and other attractions to your Sanya vacation plans.

  • Was in the temple for 1 DAY takes about 1hr dive from longyan bay.The temple is a big complex with lush gardens and a giant buddha statue.Very crowded during summerholidays but a definite must see
  • Went in cloudy weather. If you go, when it was sunny, it probably would have died from the heat! Do not buy this tour at the hotel guides, so getting to this place you can take a bus number 25, Terminal stop! Strolling through the Park, 4 hours so as not to become buy train for 30 yuan.
