Rizhao Coast Forest Park, Rizhao

3.7
#3 of 24 in Things to do in Rizhao
At the waterfront Rizhao Coast Forest Park, families can take a stroll around manicured gardens, and children can frolic in a central adventure playground, nestled in the trees. Vibrant flowerbeds, forest, and ample spots for picnicking adorn the park, which leads directly onto the broad, expansive sands of the beach, providing plenty of room for sand castle building and beach games. The water also gets a good amount of waves if you're looking to surf, though swimmers may be put off. Great place to enjoy the sea, and spend time watching. Clean, safe, and with great structure for all visitors.

After a tiring bus ride, we arrived in the scorching heat of Ritzhao. Apart from the usual plastic trash the beach was crowded pretty clean and not too strong. It is also nice that there are still no deck chair rest fields like in Europe which makes the beach again sympathetic. Stark difference between the poor indigenous population and the well-heeled tourists is ubiquitous visible directly on the beach. Unfortunately no blue sky appeared on both days. On every corner you can buy delicious dried fish and the food was consistently very good, even if the hygienic circumstances were extremely critical. Services, you should spend rather more money. Our accommodation, Leach flowers island village, is just a little robust natures. A pity that the Chinese deal so lavishly with dinner. What here everything from the sea is fished on the table comes and then thrown away is simply incomprehensible. Also in dealing with nature, rethinking should take place even as quickly as possible. The waste will be about anywhere and are allowed. Ritzhao is worth in any case a travel.

Forest Park, so called in the translation of this place. This Park is a forest planted by human hands for some thirty years ago. The enormous territory is planted with different species of plants, dug ponds, some of which are fully covered in the summer blooming lilies, a variety of secluded corners, nicely decorated place for rest and insanely clean sand on the seashore, whose depth is 18 meters. Here are all the little from the set that could be seen for a short visit.

Where to stay in Rizhao

Four hours away by bullet train from both Shanghai and Beijing, Rizhao has been fast developing into a weekend retreat for city dwellers. As such, it has a wealth of accommodations to offer. Look across the city center for the most popular among them, including high-rise luxury hotels overlooking commercial areas, and standard guesthouses and hostels close to the main train and bus stations. Look closer to the coast for some more luxury options, or consider staying overnight at the one of the rustic tea plantation houses on the outskirts of the city.
