Qinyuan Mountain, Quanzhou

3.9
#1 of 13 in Historic Sites in Quanzhou
Rub the nose of the big Tao monk for luck and hike around beautiful Qinyuan Mountain. See waterfalls surrounded by lush nature and admire the play of colors of the azure lake, Qing Yuan Tian Hu. On your way to the top, which reaches 498 m (1,634 ft), see a Shaolin temple inhabited by Buddhist monks. In addition, the mountain holds great cultural and historical buildings and artifacts, including Taoist and Buddhist sculptures, 600 stone inscriptions, the shrine of the Master Honyi, and many others. Stop at the cafe at the top of the mountain, which serves refreshing tea and fresh vegetables, providing sweeping vistas over the city. You can find restrooms and signposted trails throughout the site. • Weekends come almost every day, have time to come, every time can exercise the body, and the air is also very good. There are some snacks on the hill. You can also make tea very culturally. Every time I come is very happy, like to bring some friends. There's a shortcut. Can go with the mood.

  • The park is quite big. We spent half a day there. Be sure to buy a map at the gate as the signs are quite bad and confusing. The Laojun Rock is smaller in reality than the magazine ads and posters. I'...  more »

Where to stay in Quanzhou

Quanzhou doesn't attract many international tourists and, as such, doesn't perhaps possess the same range of accommodations found in similarly sized Chinese cities. However, as a large city with business and industry leading the way, you'll find a good number of standard hotels here, directed at traveling businesspeople, but comfortable enough for a night's stay. Licheng district has a good set of guesthouses and hostels, while Baiyuan Road boasts the grandest hotels in town.
