Where to stay in Qingdao

For upmarket, high-rise hotels in Qingdao, look at the area to the east of the center, largely revamped in time for the 2008 Olympics. Here, skyscraper chain hotels jostle for position on the main streets, offering sea views and a wealth of additional facilities, while humbler options sit on the side streets, offering more basic lodgings, but still in new blocks. To the west, the more historic districts have a good set of hostels, hotels, and guesthouses to suit a wide range of budgets and tastes.

  • It was quite an interesting place to visit. Its especially cool when anybody can climb onto some of the tanks there. Also, the submarine tour was awesome. Its sad to see trash in the engine inlet of the mig15, and 21s, but overall it was wrll worth it.
  • Fun to be able to climb around on many things.
  • Just a motley collection of antique war machines. Not well maintained and exposed to the elements. How at 30rmb per entry, it's cheap. Go if you have the time.
  • A bit weird... war machines could have a better care than what it is in there. A place to visit though.
  • 16 during the renovation, the submarine docked for maintenance did not see, ships can go up
