Climb five floors to the top of the turret at Huashi Villa (Huashi Lou), a castle-like villa offering picture-perfect panoramas over the southern coast of Qingdao. Designed by Russian aristocrat Rasi Karimov in the 1930s, the "Granite Mansion" maintains its original vintage furniture, vivid stained glass windows, and spiral staircases. Originally for German residents, nowadays this fairy-tale setting serves as a popular spot for newlywed photo sessions. You can feel the eclectic history of the villa, which has been inhabited Russians, Germans, and Britons, through its combination of different European architectural influences. Round out your experience with a calming walk through the villa's photogenic gardens. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Qingdao holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Huashi Villa (Huashi Lou) and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
