Yu Hua Tai, Nanjing

Categories: Historic Walking Areas, Nature & Parks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.9/5 based on 140 reviews on the web
Densely covered with trees, Yu Hua Tai features many monuments commemorating Chinese revolutionaries and opponents of the Chiang Kai-shek regime. This popular hiking location became the site of execution of nearly 100,000 communists in 1927. Nowadays, an obelisk inscribed with words of communist leader Mao Zedong--praising the heroes of the revolution--stands out from the highest hill of the park. You'll see nine human figures carved in stone, representing all social layers, including peasants, workers, intellectuals, and politicians fighting for decent life. A museum near the memorial displays exhibits relating to people who died fighting for their higher cause. • People who go to Nanjing always visit Yu Hua Tai, because it's in memory of deaths of revolution. It's big, well designed and educational.
  • I have been there last month with friends. The garden is very huge and many things must see. You need to spend at least 2 hours there.
