Sun Yat-Sen lead the 1911 revolution that ended the monarchy and initiated the republic. Top of the mausoleum, a room, carved on the walls surrounding the content of the three people's principles, then the statue of Sun Yat-Sen, was always in a jostling crowd around a circle inside the door has never been closed.

The 392 steps of the staircase leading to the mausoleum are worth only if the weather is nice because the more that deserves the top view of Nanjing.

A bit of a stair climb to visit the tomb itself but well worth it for the views alone. Very worthwhile to read some of the family history before you go to understand the Chinese political mindset.  more »

To Nanjing for the first time. Recommendation must be here. North mountain, commanding, only if there is living water surrounded by treasure.

Where to stay in Nanjing

You won't find a shortage of accommodations in Nanjing, a modern metropolis long on the radars of domestic and international tourists. Look south of the main railway station, following Central Road, to find the primary districts where visitors stay, with clusters of high-rise hotels--some luxurious and others standard, but all comfortable. A number of smaller boutiques set in formerly residential buildings provide atmospheric, well-maintained, and budget-friendly options. Take a look at the side streets around Central Road for a wealth of hostels and guesthouses.
