Where to stay in Nanjing

You won't find a shortage of accommodations in Nanjing, a modern metropolis long on the radars of domestic and international tourists. Look south of the main railway station, following Central Road, to find the primary districts where visitors stay, with clusters of high-rise hotels--some luxurious and others standard, but all comfortable. A number of smaller boutiques set in formerly residential buildings provide atmospheric, well-maintained, and budget-friendly options. Take a look at the side streets around Central Road for a wealth of hostels and guesthouses.

  • probably the only bookstore in the world that uses space of an abandoned car park. huge and full of books. they have different cultural events from time to time as well. stay tuned !
  • One of beautiful bookstores. Recommand visit during week. There are long waitting line to enter.
  • Great atmosphere! Nicer café where we can take one book from the shelf, read and enjoy tea or coffee.
  • Browse a great selection of books while 1940's French avant-garde music plays (it is, after all, the Librarie Avant-Garde) in a restored car park. Yes, it might be the best and most complete bookstore in China. But to include it on a list of the best bookstores in the world is really a stretch. Another mark taken off for the store's lack of air-conditioning in summer. Also, if you're looking for English books, there are none.
  • Great novelty place but I would not want to be caught here in a fire! Have a cup of coffee and a doughnut in the cafe or buy a postcard and clip it to the wall inside near the giftshop. Majority of books are in mandarin of course and lots or young chinese posers taking Selfies or trying to look cool while reading or sleeping. Go during the week early to avoid the crowds.
