St. Francis Xavier Church, Macau
(3.7/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Admire the Portuguese-style architecture of St. Francis Xavier Church, situated in a charming, quaint district with old buildings and cobblestone streets. Built in 1928, the Catholic church is dedicated to the famous missionary who died near Macau, and until recently housed one of his arm bones. Other significant relics still in its confines include those of various Japanese Christian martyrs and rebels. View the small fountains in front of the bright yellow facade, explore the modern interior, and observe the paintings on the walls. Be sure to examine the mosaic floor tiles and statues that surround this small place of worship. Afterwards, visit the Portuguese restaurant nextdoor or take some photographs of this vibrant gem. • Macau/Macao is tiny, so is this chapel which was built in 1928, at the Largo Eduardo Marques square. 3 minutes north is the Lord Stow’s Bakery (famous for egg tarts) and a second to the south is the C...  more »
  • Very pretty church, close to the Ruin's of St Pauls. Great photo opportunities, lots of people, go first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds
  • During the trip, the mass of the Sun, so that you can see in the places visited early in the morning. Coloane village, go for a walk up to a pettiness and whatnot to Macau landscapes and the Cathedral, just in time for the mass was supposed to visit the Nice Cathedral was toiling. So well known is named after the Franciscan Saints Cathedral was able to enjoy the rustic delight. I see a beautiful Cathedral mass mind peaceful.

  • The Chapel itself is not the most magnificent, but the area around it is. A nice cozy area within residential village, that stands out with it's remaining Portuguese architecture.
  • good! dodukdle..ㅎ
  • I visited the chapel in the early morning , It is quiet and tranquil . I like the sacred painting on the wall, and the map indicates the route of the Portuguese sailors coming to Asia in the end of 15th century .
  • 有歷史價值!
  • Unlike the written Guidebook, a bit disappointed ... It's not a fan of no apparent thieves
