St. Francis Xavier Church, Macau

3.9
Admire the Portuguese-style architecture of St. Francis Xavier Church, situated in a charming, quaint district with old buildings and cobblestone streets. Built in 1928, the Catholic church is dedicated to the famous missionary who died near Macau, and until recently housed one of his arm bones. Other significant relics still in its confines include those of various Japanese Christian martyrs and rebels. View the small fountains in front of the bright yellow facade, explore the modern interior, and observe the paintings on the walls. Be sure to examine the mosaic floor tiles and statues that surround this small place of worship. Afterwards, visit the Portuguese restaurant nextdoor or take some photographs of this vibrant gem. • The Saint-Francis Church is one of the most attractive buildings on the road, the shiraai of the yellow wall, the living Songkran of the Baroque, and the elegant and bright view that is definitely a hot spot for visitors to take photos.

  • Located in the heart of Coloane district. The area itself Wyndham in about 30 minutes. Walk so I'd thank me that I want to. Association of small river in serenity. Morning 10 am also felt it had arrived at so leisurely.

  • Not only the outsides and insides of the church should visit. The surrounding is very beautiful. Must have a walk nearby. A library next to it also attractive.
  • Surrounded by a very busy area, an island of tranquility in Coloane. A good museum adjacent to the Chapel.
  • Beautiful church in Coloane Village. The set of Princess' Hours final eps.
  • Good ambience. Really calm without so much traffic and noise.
  • A NICE PLACE TO VISIT

Where to stay in Macau

Cotai Strip in Macau offers luxury hotels, with famous names providing rooms looking out over the harbor and down into the historical center. Establishments in this area also feature onsite entertainment options and Vegas-style casinos. Look for more affordable options north of Nam Van Lake, where chain and boutique hotels provide rooms with views of the city, the harbor, and across to China proper. Head farther north for lower rates offered by hostels and apartment rentals.
