Macao Science Center, Macau

4.0
An engaging and educational experience for all ages, Macao Science Center offers a wide range of dynamic exhibits that make science come alive. Try the many interactive displays and games available, and visit the planetarium for a high definition show with 3D projection. Great for children, the center includes entertaining activities for kids to play while they learn. Admire the distinct asymmetrical shape of the building, designed by renowned architect I. M. Pei, and walk along the spiral stairwell with galleries and exhibits on the sides. Pick up some refreshments at the cafe or onsite fast food restaurant, and keep in mind that you don't need to haul around your things, as there are locker facilities available. Put Macao Science Center into our Macau driving holiday website to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Macau.

  • Excellent place for kiddos, lots of hands on experience and well laid out. Fun yet a great learning opportunity. The place is set up into different genres of science with all the basics taught in a fun environment. Well worth the visit, transport to and from the Science Center can be a bit of a hassle, may have to wait for taxi for 15 - 20 minutes due to lack of taxi. Not much food options there, just a McDonald's and a cafe.
  • If you're not a child or a child at heart, this place is not for you. I visited this place on the pretense that it catered both to adults and children alike with its offerings of Aurora 3D Light Shows and other attractions that seem to appeal to at least the teen demographic. But we were greeted with more or less a kiddie playhouse filled with educational exhibits.
  • Good place to spend the day. Not only children would enjoy it, but my gf and I also had a great time. There were loads of interactive games which is not only fun but educational.
  • Awesome attractions and caring staff, but a lot of exhibits are damaged and not yet repaired...pls take heed of the maintenance needs.
  • Highly recommended for kids and science buffs! Always part of our trip each time we go to Macau.

Where to stay in Macau

Cotai Strip in Macau offers luxury hotels, with famous names providing rooms looking out over the harbor and down into the historical center. Establishments in this area also feature onsite entertainment options and Vegas-style casinos. Look for more affordable options north of Nam Van Lake, where chain and boutique hotels provide rooms with views of the city, the harbor, and across to China proper. Head farther north for lower rates offered by hostels and apartment rentals.
