Kun Iam Temple, Macau

4.3
Founded in the 13th Century, Kun Iam Temple is the city’s oldest temple. Lavish porcelain figurines adorn the roof, and other decorations embellish the indoor halls. The two statues inside the main hall represent the eponymous Kun Iam, the Goddess of Mercy, and purportedly Marco Polo, who studied Buddhism in this temple. History buffs won't want to leave without seeing the stone on which the Sino-American treaty was signed in July 1844--marking a significant agreement between two of the world’s economic superpowers. I walked from the bei North. And the distance is usually pleasant so I don't know if it took time, but the Macau S.A.R. not widely. Temple is also known as. Could not read the Chinese characters is an official name. It is such a place like it on street and facing the road is not aware. Walked in because the bus was parked along the road. I would not pay the entrance fee, but did not require. While many of you looks sort inclined to return visits.

Away from the madness at the casino, but the front entrance was crowded with people (not connected with the temple) asking for money. Within walking distance of Guia Hill if you're in that area.  more »

Where to stay in Macau

Cotai Strip in Macau offers luxury hotels, with famous names providing rooms looking out over the harbor and down into the historical center. Establishments in this area also feature onsite entertainment options and Vegas-style casinos. Look for more affordable options north of Nam Van Lake, where chain and boutique hotels provide rooms with views of the city, the harbor, and across to China proper. Head farther north for lower rates offered by hostels and apartment rentals.
