Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, Macau

3.9
Stop by the simple Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady to enjoy some peace and quiet away from large groups of tourists. The interior is unobtrusive, with not much in the way of grandiose decorations besides the large stained glass windows surrounding the altar. The church is actively frequented by the community, with Mass services held in English on the weekends. Unwind at the benches of the cathedral square out front, where you can also find a small fountain and a few murals depicting the history of the town. • The time i just visited was Easter. After the concert, there was a parade of Christ and Mary. It was very good because it was not the one that i was able to see easily. It is the start of the evening.

  • Great to visit early in the morning to avoid crowd and lots of time to take pictures without photbomber. Lol.
  • I was just passing by at night on my way to hotel. But it looks nice at night as well with the light. Just that the location is a bit hidden/narrow.
  • The view was great, but there was so crowded with tourist. It's hard to enjoy the atmosphere. But still, I love this place... . This place was not so far from Senado Squre, we should walking around 5 minutes..
  • Also know as Sé Catedral first built in 1576 as a small wooded chapel. In 1623, it was redesigned as Cathedral. Extended in 1849 and rebuilt in 1937 gave it the appearance which remains today. Included on the list of World Heritage Sites in 2005.
