Camoes Garden and Grotto, Macau

3.7
#4 of 26 in Parks in Macau
Stroll through Camoes Garden and Grotto for some peace and quiet away from the busy streets. One of the oldest parks in Macau, this site is dedicated to a renowned Portuguese poet, carrying his surname and displaying his bust underneath a rocky arch. Enjoy a book or have a picnic within the lush greenery, observe the locals going about their business,  or play chess with friends. Take note of the bronze statue symbolizing the friendly relations between China and Portugal and pay your respects at the old cemetery, filled with headstones marking the graves of foreign merchants and missionaries who made Macau their home. World heritage month - SA is located right in front of the garden square. Right next to the large and respectable Lewis commoners Park, but two are different. Bench placed the world pasted tile, but it is not so big, trees which grew around it. Many local people, everyone was spent relaxing.

Spacious park located in front of the commoners square. Located beside the swing and walking for strengthening? Many of the citizens who use the health equipment.

It is a large park located about a 5-minute walk from the ruins of Saint Paul in Macau S.A.R.. Even world heritage sites such as Casa garden, the Protestant Cemetery in the Park, there are many different attractions. Also from the observation deck overlooking views of the Macau S.A.R.. It was a lovely Park on a hill.

Heard that the most famous Portuguese poet Luis de Camoes lived there so that's why the garden is named by him. Peaceful and calm place in Macau.

    The beautiful natural park

Calming park with beautiful scenic views. I went here in January 2015 and it was a very relaxing place to be. the park is well maintained and has some excellent areas from which to see Macau. There are play areas for children and a cemetery nearby of foreigners from the mid 1800s. I could not imagine there would be such a peaceful place in the middle of a thriving city.

Where to stay in Macau

Cotai Strip in Macau offers luxury hotels, with famous names providing rooms looking out over the harbor and down into the historical center. Establishments in this area also feature onsite entertainment options and Vegas-style casinos. Look for more affordable options north of Nam Van Lake, where chain and boutique hotels provide rooms with views of the city, the harbor, and across to China proper. Head farther north for lower rates offered by hostels and apartment rentals.
